How kordi works
Everything you can do here, explained in plain words. Pick a topic below, or read top to bottom in about ten minutes.
Start here
New to kordi? Four steps.
kordi is the platform where intention meets execution: one place for plans, goals, learning, and rewards with the people in your life.
Create your account and meet your kordinator
Sign up with email or phone, pick a username, and make your kordinator, the little character that represents you. A short quiz shapes your home screen around how you like to plan.
Add your people
Invite friends, or join a group someone already made with its 6-character code or link. kordi is better with your people in it.
Say what you want to do
Float a spark to see who's in, plan an event, or set a goal. Talk or type, and kordi drafts it for you. Nothing is created until you confirm.
Show up and earn
Following through earns you kordi points. Spend them on perks at local businesses or backing a friend's goal.
Plan together
Sparks: float an idea, see who's in
A spark is an idea you float before you plan anything. Post one, like "Anyone up for a Saturday hike?", and watch who's in. No pressure and no planning until people actually want to go.
Make a spark
Tap Spark an idea, then talk or type. kordi drafts a title for you and suggests alternatives. Say whether you're offering something (teaching guitar basics) or looking for something (a pickup game), and pick who sees it: everyone, just friends, or certain groups.
Show interest
See a spark you like? Tap I'm In. You can add a private note that only the person who posted it sees. On sparks inside a group, you can answer In, Maybe, or Pass.
Momentum and the 14-day clock
As people join in, a spark builds momentum, with milestones at 5, 10, and 20 interested. A spark that doesn't catch on quietly fades after 14 days, with a countdown in its final two days. No guilt. Ideas are allowed to just be ideas.
Turn a spark into something real
When enough people are in, convert the spark into an event, a group, a Relay assist, or a guide session with one tap. Everyone who showed interest comes along.
Group sparks, quick starts, and nudges
Post sparks inside a group so the whole crew sees them. Sports teams get ready-made quick starts like "Post-game dinner" and "Carpool to practice". You can give your own spark one gentle re-ask a day, or nudge a friend to float an idea of their own.
Plan together
Events that actually happen
Say what you're planning, out loud or typed, and kordi turns it into a real event: time, place, guest list. You review the draft and confirm. Nothing is created until you do.
Say it, and kordi drafts it
Talk or type: "Taco night at my place Friday at 7." kordi fills in the details and shows you a draft you can edit. Not sure on timing? Ask for suggestions that account for your crew's schedules and travel time.
Drafts save themselves, so you can start on the couch and finish on the bus.
Invite anyone, even people not on kordi
Invite friends on kordi, add guests by name, or send an invite link to someone who doesn't have kordi yet. They get a simple web page and can RSVP from any device. Can't settle on a date? Post a date poll and let everyone weigh in, then confirm the winner.
Share the work
Split up tasks so one person isn't doing everything. Offer or claim rides. Sketch a simple running order for the day, and check the weather forecast right on the event.
The day of
Your next plans sit at the top of Home with friendly labels like "Today 7:00 PM". Add any event to your phone calendar with one tap, and share an invite card that shows a real preview when you send it in a message thread.
Afterward: wrap it up
When it's over, wrap it up. kordi writes a short recap you can edit, and everyone who came can add moments, little highlights up to 280 characters. A quiet card reminds you once. Dismiss it and it stays gone.
Grow
Goals with people behind you
Set a goal, break it into milestones, and let your people get behind you. kordi's rule of thumb: 80% is success. Progress over perfection.
Set it up
Tell kordi your goal ("run a 5K by June") and it suggests milestones you can edit or replace. Keep a goal solo (only you see it), with friends (you and the friends you have added), or public (anyone signed in to kordi).
Log progress
Write or dictate a quick note about what you did. Your milestones drive the progress bar: check one off and the bar moves. If your note clearly says you finished a milestone, kordi shows it already checked so one Save records it. Uncheck anything and kordi learns to stop suggesting it.
Did something your plan didn't cover? kordi offers to add it as a new milestone. Always unchecked, always your call.
The kordi pledge
Want a little skin in the game? Pledge some of your own kordi points to your goal. It raises the stakes just enough to make showing up easier.
When friends back you
Friends can put their own points behind your goal to show they believe in you. They can even pre-commit an amount on your profile before you've set a goal, so there's no awkward ask. Inviting them later applies what they already offered.
Celebrate, or let go
You declare success. kordi never marks a goal done for you. At 80% you're in the success zone, and anything past your plan is bonus territory. When you celebrate, the pledged pool pays out: you keep most of it and your backers share the rest.
Letting go of a goal is allowed too. Your own pledged points are forfeited, and your backers get most of theirs returned. Below 80% isn't failure. It's on the journey.
Streaks and check-ins
Showing up regularly builds a streak you'll see on Home and your widgets. And when your logging outpaces your plan, a quiet card offers a one-tap review of your milestones. Say "Not now" and it stays quiet for two weeks.
Your people
Groups and teams
Groups are your people in one place: the friend crew, the family, the book club, the team. Chat, plans, sparks, announcements, and shared memories, together.
Start or join a group
Create a group in seconds, or join one with its 6-character code or a kordiave.com/join link. Need quiet? Mute any group's spark notifications from its menu.
Life inside a group
Post events and sparks the whole group sees. Send announcements for the big stuff. Give props to someone who came through, make a fun ranking, and build a shared gallery of moments. You can also invite a Guide into the group for ongoing learning.
Boards and tasks
Groups can run boards with tasks: status, priority, due dates, even repeating chores. Household groups get a pulse card showing who's carrying what, so the work stays fair.
Teams and rosters
Teams add structure for sports and clubs: rosters with names, roles, jersey numbers, and positions, plus schedules, team announcements, and sensible event defaults. Parents can link their kids and RSVP on their behalf.
Golf trips
Turn a group into a golf trip from its settings. You get a live leaderboard with net scoring by flight, a putt tracking board, and Ryder Cup style team scoring that runs itself. The organizer can post a morning brief and a nightcap digest, always reviewed before it goes out.
On iPhone, pick up to 16 trip photos and kordi builds a vertical hype film with music, entirely on your phone. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Your people
Relay: ask for a hand, lend a hand
Relay is how your community has your back. Post what you need and friends and neighbors step up. It runs on goodwill, never money.
Post an assist
Talk or type what you need: "Can someone grab my mail this week?" kordi sorts it into one of 14 categories, from errands, rides, and pet help to snow removal and wellness checks, and sets how urgent it is.
Browse and help
See what people near you need and step up for the ones you can do. An Ask works a little differently: it's an open question where several people can chime in with advice.
Say thanks
Afterward, rate how it went, both ways. If someone really came through, send a thank-you tip in kordi points. Help on Relay is always free or appreciation-welcome, never paid in dollars.
Grow
Guides: learn from real people
Guides are people near you who share what they know: the neighbor who teaches guitar, the friend who leads group runs. Learn from your community, not from strangers' videos.
Find a Guide
Browse Guides by category and see their specialties and track record. Book a guided session (structured learning, one-on-one or small group) or join a live walkthrough (hands-on help with a specific task).
Practice between sessions
Your Guide can set practice assignments, often with a video attached, and you log each session as you go. A reminder arrives the day before an assignment is due, and your Guide is notified the moment you finish.
Goal suggestions
A Guide can suggest a goal with milestones built in. You accept, tweak, or decline. Your call, always.
Become a Guide
Know something worth sharing? Set up a Guide profile, build a library of links and videos you assign again and again, and manage your learners, sessions, and inquiries from one dashboard.
Tips, rewards, and requests
Tip a Guide who helped you in kordi points, and Guides can reward learners for good work. Can't find a Guide for what you want to learn? Request one. Community interest in the request helps attract the right person, and referring a learner to a Guide earns you points too.
Rewards
kordi points and perks
kordi points are the reward for showing up. Earn them by doing real things with real people, then spend them on perks at local businesses or backing a friend's goal. Points live inside kordi and have no cash value.
How you earn
Show up to events you committed to. Host plans and wrap them up. Hit milestones and celebrate goals. Help a neighbor through Relay. Guide a learner. Refer friends and local businesses. Different actions earn different amounts, and your full history is always visible: every point in, every point out.
Daily caps keep it fair
Earning is capped each day per activity (for example, up to 500 points a day from event attendance) so points stay meaningful and nobody can game the system.
Redeem a perk
Browse perks from local businesses and redeem with points. You get a 6-character code good for 7 days. Show it at the counter. That's it.
Gift points
Send points to a friend with a personal note, for a birthday, a thank-you, or just because. If they don't claim the gift, it comes back to you. You can even gift someone who isn't on kordi yet, and they claim it on the web.
Invite and refer
Share your invite code or link, and when a friend joins and enters it, you both earn points once their new account passes a short waiting period. Know a business that belongs on kordi? Request it and vote for the ones your community wants most. You earn points for requesting and for voting.
Everyday tools
Ask kordi: your planning partner
Ask kordi drafts events, breaks goals into milestones, and suggests what's next. One rule above everything: AI accelerates, never replaces. kordi drafts, you decide, and nothing is sent or created until you confirm.
What it does
Describe a plan or a goal by voice or text and kordi structures it for you. Ask for venue ideas, timing that fits your crew, or a nudge on what to do next. In chat, smart replies offer quick responses you can tap instead of typing. Optional daily nudges check in when a goal is at risk of slipping.
You stay in control
Every suggestion is a draft you edit and confirm. kordi never sends messages, never invites anyone, and never posts on your behalf. It never overwrites something you've edited, and when you decline a suggestion, it learns to stop offering it.
Make it yours
Pick how kordi talks to you: several personality styles, plus sliders for energy, humor, and how brief it keeps things.
Turn it off any time
One switch in Settings > Privacy & Security turns off Ask kordi and kordi's other AI suggestions, and everything still works the manual way. Daily nudges have their own switch under Notifications, and an assistant you connect yourself stays connected until you revoke its key in Profile, then Connected AI. And a plain word: Ask kordi is an automated assistant, not a therapist or a professional advisor. The real support on kordi comes from your people.
Everyday tools
kordi on your phone
kordi meets you where you already are: your home screen, your messages, Siri, your calendar. Less time in the app, more time living the plan.
Widgets
Daily Pulse widgets put your streak, next event, and goal progress on your home screen, and on the iPhone lock screen too. The Daily Motivation widget rotates a fresh quote every 6 hours. Widget buttons let you RSVP, accept an invite, or check off a goal step without opening the app (iOS 17 and later, and Android).
Talk to your phone
Say "Hey Siri, draft an event in kordi", answer one question, and the draft is waiting for you. Long-press the kordi icon for quick actions: plan an event, spark an idea, set a goal. On iOS 18 and later, add the kordi button to Control Center for one-tap capture.
Two more Siri phrases: "What's next in kordi" reads your next event, goal focus, and streak out loud, and "Log progress in kordi" dictates straight into your featured goal, no app open.
Event day on the lock screen
An hour before your event, a countdown appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (iOS 16.2 and later). When the event starts it flips to Happening now, and it clears itself a few hours later. It shows the title and the countdown, nothing more.
Share and capture from anywhere
Someone texts "dinner Friday at 7?" Highlight the text in any app, tap Share, choose Create kordi event, and confirm the draft. In iMessage, open kordi from the app drawer to drop an interactive invite card into the thread; guests without kordi can RSVP from the web.
kordi is smart about what you capture: "ran 3 miles" opens your goal log pre-filled, and "who's up for a hike?" drafts a spark. Want matching texts handed to kordi automatically? See the two-minute Text kordi setup.
On Android, kordi invite links open straight in the app, and a long-press on the icon offers the same quick actions.
Notifications that do things
Press and hold an invite notification to answer Going or Can't go on the spot. Goal nudges include a quick text box to log progress without opening the app. Ten notification categories each have their own switch, plus quiet hours when you want them.
Calendar sync
Subscribe to your kordi events from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or a family display like Skylight. It works on devices that don't have kordi at all, covers your coming months, and offers a feed per group. Regenerate or remove your link any time.
Bring your own AI
Connect your own AI assistant, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor, and let it read your kordi world and make changes only for you. Assistants that need a sign-in flow, such as ChatGPT and Claude on the web, are not supported yet. Keys are shown once, capped at five, and revocable any time. One hard rule: your assistant can never message anyone, invite anyone, or spend your kordi points. If it answers an invitation for you, the host sees your RSVP, the same as always.
Everyday tools
Messages and your inbox
One inbox for everything: messages, invitations, and activity, with a badge that keeps count so nothing slips by.
One inbox
Direct messages, group chats, invitations, and updates live in one place. The unread badge on the tab and the app icon always agree.
Chat that keeps up
Reply to a specific message with a quoted bubble. Edit what you sent. Mention people, send voice notes and photos, and tap a smart reply when it says it better than you would.
Act right from the notification
Approve or decline join requests and invitations straight from the notification. Once handled, they disappear instead of nagging you again.
Your account
Your profile, privacy, and trust
kordi is built so you control what's shared. You decide whether others see your reliability score, your data is yours, and blocking actually works.
Your kordinator
Your kordinator is your character on kordi. Customize it to match your style.
Your reliability score
A percentage built from your attendance, punctuality, and follow-through. You see the full number on your profile. Other kordi members see it as a badge next to your name. To keep it to yourself, turn off Show reliability score in Settings > Privacy & Security.
Privacy controls
Decide who can read your bio, and who sees your activity and your goals. Events are visible to the people you are planning them with. Location settings stay in your hands. One switch turns off Ask kordi and kordi's other AI suggestions. It's all in Settings > Privacy & Security.
Block and report
Report or block anyone from their profile, and press and hold any message to report it. Blocking shuts down a direct conversation both ways. In group chats, blocking hides that person's content from you (it can't remove them from the group for everyone).
Your data, your call
Export everything you've put into kordi, submit a privacy request, or delete your account, all from Settings > Privacy & Security. Add two-factor authentication for extra security.
Make kordi yours
Light or dark theme. Pin the features you use most to Home, and pick which two shortcuts sit in your tab bar. The short quiz when you join shapes all of it around how you like to plan.
